Does it playback HD (High Definition) movies smoothly?

Up to Full HD quality (1920x1080 pixels) for MP4, MOV, M4V and MPV files
Up to HD 720p quality (1280x720 pixel) for MKV, AVI, RMVB, ... files on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad Mini
Up to DV quality (720x576 pixels) on iPhone 4, iPod 3, iPod 4, iPad 1

How can I load subtitle to my video?

Audio doesn’t sync with video, movie doesn’t playback smoothly, why is that?

Decoding and playing HD or high quality videos on iPhone/iPad/iPod touch requires large amount of processor and memory capacity, so this may actually exceed the capability of your iOS device and the video playback would be negatively affected. Surely newer models of iOS device get better playback performance.
If possible, please close other unused apps and do not multi-tasking. As jailbreak devices keep using more CPU and memory capacity, this may affect the video playback performance too.

How can I keep audio playback in the background even I locked the device or quitted this app?

When your music or MTV is playing, just press the “Home” button of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to quit this app or the “Power” button to lock your device, the audio will keep playing automatically.
